Alvin D. Pelt,
President and Medical Director

(Fellow, American Society of Addiction Medicine)

Dr. Pelt is a well-known and respected addiction psychiatrist in the Central Ohio area where he began his practice in 1989. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University and Wayne State University School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Pelt is Board Certified with the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, with additional certification in

Addiction Psychiatry; he is also a Diplomate of the American board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM). 

 

He has memberships with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), the American Academy of Addiction

Psychiatrist (AAAP) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA). 

 

Dr. Pelt has current affiliation with Ohio University as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and formerly with The Ohio State University.

In 2002, Dr. Pelt was part of the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Clinical Trials Network (CTN) that

conducted the initial human trials for Buprenorphine, a medicine use for the treatment of opiate addiction. He has

over twenty-five years of experience in treating addictions; with specialization in alcohol and opiate

addiction-recovery.

 

 

Marlene (Marty) Miller, CEO

Ms. Miller has a long history of working with non-profit organizations where she used her programming, public relations and government affairs experience to bring about impactful changes for individuals, families and communities.  She is the former CEO for Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers. Under her leadership, the company grew its capacity to serve more patients and stabilized their financial position.  In addition, the company forged significant community partnerships with major hospital systems, learning institutions and others. 

 

Ms. Miller’s past positions include: President & CEO of Miller Public Relations, Executive Director of the Center for Urban Progress, Executive Vice President for the National Urban Policy Institute; Corporate Vice President, Mount Carmel Health Systems and Vice President for Community and Government Affairs for the Franklin County Alcohol Drug and Mental Health Board.

 

She is currently serving as a Community Engagement Consultant with Franklin County Public Health and she is also the part time Chief Executive Officer for The Pelt Clinic, a newly created substance abuse disorder clinic.  In addition, Ms. Miller is an Executive Consultant for Strategy, Communications and Multicultural Outreach at Intelligent Demand, a business-to-business marketing company.  She also serves on Intelligent Demand’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee.

 

Ms. Miller is a member of the Whitehall Education Foundation Board and active member of Love Zion Baptist Church. Her former board appointments include Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers and Mary-haven Inc.  She earned her B.A. from The Ohio State University and was honored to be among 66 individuals selected nationwide by the Kellogg Foundation to provide input on building sustainable community-based programs.

Deborah Kilgore, DBA, RN, Compliance Officer

Deborah Kilgore has 44 years of nursing experience and has worked in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, focusing on mental health and substance abuse disorder (SUD) in Columbus, Ohio. She has worked as a staff nurse, charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, nurse manager, and nursing supervisor. She has, also, served as a director of an interdisciplinary team serving patients in a SUD medically assisted service department.

 

Her education includes an associate degree in nursing, a bachelor’s degree in business management and human resource management, a master’s degree in business management, and a doctorate degree in business management.

 

Deborah is a patient advocate and has been a “collaborator” throughout her entire career, equipping her with the desire to offer anything she can to improve patient care outcomes. Her belief is that all health care professionals have a responsibility to assist patients with their recovery process. This process incorporates prevention and education, identification of referral for treatment, and provision of re-entry into family, work, and school, upon successful completion of rehabilitation.

LaNita Willis AAS, BS, LSW, LCDC III - (OP)

LaNita Willis is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III and Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio. She has comprehensive experience with treating individuals with Substance Use Disorder add/or have mental health challenges. Before becoming licensed, she worked at reputable agencies in Columbus, Ohio since 2001.

 

She is presently employed at The Pelt where she performs SUD assessments and determines levels of care for individuals who have Substance use and/or Mental Health diagnoses. She facilitates group and individual counseling to help empower clients to be successful with their recovery.

 

She is passionate about assisting clients in the Columbus area to become productive, independent citizens. LaNita believes there are solutions to the present Opioid crisis and is willing to go the extra mile to treat and counsel individuals and families to bring about positive change for them and the community. She believes in autonomy and individualized treatment and respects each persons’ beliefs and customs.

 

LaNita is a licensed clinician with an LCDC III, and LSW licensure. She is a graduate of CSCC where she achieved an AAS and MVNU where she achieved a BSW. She is presently enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University pursuing a Masters’ Degree in Social Work.

 

Before getting into the recovery field, she was a Licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Tennessee and Ohio for over 25 years.  She describes herself as a People-Person and enjoys interacting with people of all ethnicities and experiencing diverse cultures.

Tammy Sanderson MSW, LCDC III MH/SUD, Co-occurring Disorders - (IOP)

Ms. Sanderson is committed to helping patients learn how to manage their life circumstances without dependence on alcohol and other drugs.  She takes an honest, straight-forward approach with her patients and that comes from her belief that change can happen with anyone who is wants to change and is willing to put in the work to make it happen.

 

 

Ms. Sanderson has experience working with a variety of patients including those with co-occurring diagnoses.  She is skilled in a variety of areas including inpatient and outpatient, intensive outpatient, Medication Assisted Treatment and AOD case management.  Ms. Sanderson has also trained in trauma informed care and the Seven Challenges approach to help adolescents and adults take control of their lives.

 

 

Ms. Sanderson is a License Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDIII).  She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati where she also earned a Bachelor of Science and Associates degree in Psychology.
